FINANCIAL PAIN
Are you in debt? Are your bills giving you sleepless nights? Are creditors hounding you? Is financial distress creating tension in your marriage?
Perhaps you are in quite good financial shape. Maybe you have a job that pays a steady wage, and you are able to handle your expenses. Lets say you can even afford some treats, like nights out on the town and vacations.
But do you really feel secure? Are you confident that youll be comfortable in your retirement years? Will you be financially independent? Will you be able to afford your medical expenses? Will you be able to continue the entertainment and travel that you enjoy now?
ANTI-WEALTH MINDSET
If you do not feel safe when it comes to money, the obstacle that may be preventing you from achieving that wonderful feeling is an anti-wealth mindset.
An anti-wealth mindset? you may be asking. Your very next question may be, Are you nuts? You may protest, Of course I dont have anything against wealth! Id LOVE to be rich! Yet, though you may THINK that you long to be prosperous, there may be mental and emotional obstacles preventing you from achieving wealth.
Your childhood may have shown you examples of rich people who exploited poor people. This may have led you to believe that people who had piles of money were filthy rich.
On the other hand, you may have grown up in a family that struggled financially. Your parents may have been unsatisfactory role models when it came to accumulating money. You may have unconsciously accepted the fact that you did not deserve a better lifestyle. Deep down you may feel it would be unfair to break ranks with your poor family members.
Still another obstacle may be lack of confidence. You may have the impression that you need to be incredibly clever, talented or lucky in order to make tons of money. You may think that it is only OTHER people, and not you, who have the brains, genes, or golden horseshoes.
REALITY CHECK
If truth be told, there is nothing immoral about being rich. If you had lots of money to spare, youd be in a position to support non-profit organizations that help to make the world a better place.
As youre buckling up your seat belt on a plane, the flight attendant instructs passengers, If there is an emergency and oxygen masks are released, fit your own mask before assisting a child or anyone else who is traveling with you. The reason is obvious. In order to be useful to another person, you yourself need to be breathing!
So it is with money. You have to accumulate it yourself before you can use it to help other people. Your being poor and sharing their pain will not improve the situation of other poor people.
You do not need to be saddled with your parents limited money handling skills. Learning to manage your finances is simple. There is information about it all over the place.
You also do not need to be a genius or have remarkable luck to turn your fortunes around. Wealth is available to people who in many respects are very ordinary.
THE KEY
All you need is to grab an imaginary duster and flick those poverty mindset cobwebs from the corners of your mind.
Believe that you can achieve a better life and that you can remain a decent person in the process, educate yourself about money, and put what you learn into action.
If you are willing to receive money and if you focus your attention on that point, it will only be a matter of time before you see so many opportunities to improve your financial position that youll hardly be able to keep up with all of the fabulous options.
